What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Help create a best-in-class product and brand that promotes outdoor exploration
- Lead design work from concept to implementation on web, iOS, and Android platforms
- Design, prototype, test, and document designs for handoff
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality products
- Provide and seek feedback from other designers to raise the bar for design quality
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5+ years of professional experience in designing consumer-facing products for web and mobile platforms
- Portfolio showcasing real-world examples of customer-facing products developed from start to finish
- Strong passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences
- Excellent product design skills, including UX, visual design, and interaction design
- Experience using research and metrics to inform design decisions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product management and engineering teams
- Proven ability to present work to executive leadership and prioritize feedback
- Self-motivated and able to independently lead design projects
- Fluent in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Principle, and Origami
- Humble, empathetic, and open-minded attitude towards design
- Bonus: Experience working in diverse environments, including large and small companies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as an outdoor enthusiast or familiarity with outdoor recreation
- Previous experience in agencies or design studios
