      Job Purpose

      We are the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Field Deployment Group at National Grid. The Lead Inventory Program Manager position is a critical role in coordinating this effort and it is a great opportunity to join an exciting program, at the heart of modernizing meter technology. AMI is a foundational technology to enable our clean energy future and reimagine how customer’s will engage energy management in the future.

      The Meter and Field Deployment team is responsible for deploying 1.3 million smart meters to National Grid's Massachusetts customers. We are committed to exceeding the expectations of our customers, shareholders, and communities today, while delivering the energy systems of tomorrow .

      Key Accountabilities

      • Manage and coordinate the cross functional inventory and supply chain requirements critical to the install of all AMI meters, modules, and field area network devices
      • Assure the AMI deployment with delivery, return, and warehousing of assets across National Grid service territories and our supporting partners
      • Partner with internal stakeholders, installation contractors, and external partners assuring performance, pro-active materials management, and timely issue resolution
      • Manage the holistic AMI inventory and material management strategy: program forecast files, SAP POs, open orders, track receipts, and invoice payments in support of workplans, stocking points, and master data
      • Monitor and manage inventory reports to identify anomalies or discrepancies to ensure the integrity of inventory levels

      • Develop and manage KPI’s that will be used to inform leadership of the health of the overall project and shared with key stakeholders
      • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid
      • Support the expansion of AMI across National Grid
      • Flexibility to work remotely and with a team across National Grid
      • Work closely with Finance team to meet budgetary commitments.

      Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

      • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid
      • Build strong external relationships with our AMI partners and external communities in support of deployment.
      • Requires the flexibility to work remotely and in the filed with a team across National Grid

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of Supply Chain, Inventory Management and/or Project Management experience
      • Inventory and Supply Chain experience desirable
      • Demonstrated project management experience on large-scale programs preferred
      • Experience coordinating cross-functional resources and a diverse group of stakeholders
      • Ability to build and maintain project wide metrics to be shared with leadership
      • Ability to anticipate and resolve barriers proactively

      • Able to think commercially and identify novel ways of working
      • Strong experience in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint). Visio and Projects
      • Effective relationship management skills
      • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills
      • Ability to be flexible and agile to changing conditions.
      • Ability to work in virtual teams

      Salary

      Downstate NY: $128,000 - $151,000 a year

      MA: $119,000 - $140,000 a year

      Upstate NY: $107,000 - $126,000 a year

      This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
