      Main duties of the job

      Provide clinical leadership within a highly specialised area. You will participate in departmental QA, audit and all aspects of mandatory training as well. As a clinical lead you will enjoy scoping to develop policies and procedures. Deputise and support Radiology Manager. Supervise and develop other members of staff, inlcuding to mentor students and perceptees. Work in partnership supporting practitioners and other departments around the hospital. See each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy. Excellent communication and team working abilities.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Radiographer who will be responsible for the operational management of a part of the diagnostic imaging department ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services, and / or to be a speciality lead in a clinical area such as MRI, CT mammography, whilst supporting the Radiology Manager. You will have the relevant specialist knowledge with previous people management experience, good communication and IT skills, to help us build a healthier nation as a Lead Radiographer at our hospital. The Radiology department is a growing and busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, Mammography and MRI. You will undertake a wide range of duties in helping to run the day to day running of a radiology service as well as participating in clinical work. You hold a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and be HCPC registered. With a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR and be able to undertake audits. Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable. We have a duty to apply to the DBS disclosure on successful candidates. As our Lead Radiographer , you will:
