- Proactively monitors and works with partners to track, analyze, and where possible, influence new and revised state & federal laws, performance standards, and applicable codes. Responsible for ensuring internal stakeholders and customers understand all pending applicable product requirements.
- Communicates and trains internal stakeholders on performance standards, regulations, and applicable codes. Is often capable of providing an interpretation based on their experience and knowledge. When necessary, will take the lead to leverage their network to get clarification and ensure the interpretation is adequately detailed and communicated to parties of interest.
- Actively involved in the identification and mitigation of risks through various activities including the development of departmental strategies as well as leading and/or completing assigned continuous improvement activities.
- Serves as a mentor and resource both internally and across the corporation by proactively sharing their knowledge, and by participating as the technical lead on sophisticated topics.
- Completes assigned work while growing knowledge of products, processes, systems, and applicable product requirements by actively participating in discussions, asking & answering questions, and learning from the thought processes of others in all areas of the business.
- Participates in the assigned standard development organizations and plumbing trade associations to represent business interests while offering the highest practical and reasonable health and safety protection to the public. Participation includes being a member of a trade association committee and/or as a task force of industry peers crafting and/or updating standards, as well as participating at higher levels (e.g., voting member, delegate for a voting member, committee chair/co-chair).
- Maintains, monitors, promotes, and continuously improves the company-wide product compliance policy and associated systems, processes, and documentation.
- Collaborates with other functions to identify and mitigate product compliance risk in systems, processes, and products involved in launches and/or engineering changes, including the creation of validation test plans.
- Ensures all assigned product certifications and listings data are consistent with internal systems and policies.
- A bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics with a minimum of ten years confirmed experience with plumbing fittings and/or fixtures.
- Must have experience with the development and application of plumbing fitting and/or fixture performance requirements and standards.
- Confirmed experience identifying & mitigating risk with plumbing related products, processes, and systems.
- Confirmed experience proactively leading initiatives with an analytical focus and being willing to challenge the status quo.
- Must be meticulous and comfortable working with substantial amounts of data.
- Able and willing to proactively learn and work with sophisticated concepts including performance standards, codes, regulations, product designs, and manufacturing processes.
- Must possess strong communications skills including the ability to explain sophisticated technical and legal requirements.
- Able to coordinate, plan, allocate, and prioritize work to meet overlapping goals while working alone or leading or being part of a multi-functional team.
- Strong digital literacy especially with the development and analysis of spreadsheets (SAP and PowerBI experience is helpful).
- Normal working hours must include the core hours from 9:00AM to 3:00PM Eastern Time Zone and be able to participate in sporadic international conference calls earlier in the morning or later in the evening.
- Able to travel occasionally (both domestically and internationally) to manufacturing sites, other business units, and association meetings. Total annual travel is normally less than 10-days and known several weeks in advance.
- Electrical and/or water quality experience is preferred.
