      What is the opportunity?

      The Lead, Reinsurance Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and supervision for the Reinsurance Administration & Financial Reporting team, and business subject matter expertise to RBC Life stakeholders (e.g. Divisions (Finance, Legal, Customer Service, Claims, Product Actuarial, Underwriting, Group Risk Management, Reinsurance Placements and Corporate Actuarial), and its reinsurers.

      What will you do?

      •Be responsible for the treaty interpretation, development, documentation, adherence and maintenance of operational guidelines and procedures to administer the ceded reinsurance business on TAI

      •Support and/or take a lead role with internal and external audits

      •Oversee the ceded reinsurance financial reporting

      •Review all new treaties, amendments, closures to ensure administration and treaty compliance which includes post product launch verification on TAI

      •Ensure appropriate training is in place and maintained for ceded reinsurance administration team and for all staff in other areas of RBC Insurance who must interact with the ceded reinsurance administration systems

      •Work with Reinsurance System and Business Development Team on new product launches and TAI system initiatives

      What will you need to succeed?

      •Minimum 10 years experience in Insurance or Reinsurance Administration experience with in-depth understanding of reinsurance and the relevant core processes and how they interact in the various entities being supported

      •Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously

      •Strong communication skills (written and oral) together with a proven ability to effectively communicate with a broad cross-section of people at various levels in the business communities

      •Proven leadership & client services skills with a collaborative and supportive attitude

      •High willingness and drive to learn

      •LOMA – FLMI, ACS, ARA designation is desired and proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
