      Summary

      Join a dynamic, collaborative research team investigating neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The Lead, Research Operations will coordinate the development and implementation of cross-disciplinary and collaborative research projects blending clinical characterization, genetic dissection, functional follow up, and drug discovery across neurodegenerative diseases. Will interact with all project Principal Investigators, research staff, and trainees to facilitate communication, ensure progress and accomplishment of project milestones. Reports directly to faculty or principal investigators (P.I.).

      Job Duties

      • Coordinates interdisciplinary research activities using high-level scientific knowledge and clear communication skills to align with project goals.
      • Utilizes prior experience and strong interpersonal and interdisciplinary communication skills to independently identify opportunities to enrich research operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ethical practices, while also serving as an expert consultant across diverse research domains.
      • Engages diverse stakeholders, including scientists, faculty, medical staff, as well as funding and regulatory bodies by adeptly translating complex scientific concepts with exceptional written and oral communication skills.
      • Contributes to progress reports, research manuscripts, grant proposals, and regulatory documents (IRB, IACUC, NIH, FDA), distilling complex scientific data and study outcomes into comprehensive insights and actionable plans.
      • Plays a role in supervising and mentoring clinical and preclinical research staff and trainees, both in laboratory research and data analysis, ensuring adherence to rigorous scientific standards and enhancing project objectives and scientific discovery through high-level scientific expertise.
      • Oversees large multi-departmental and multi-site research projects to ensure that milestones and deliverables are met.
      • Manages the sharing of scientific data and bio-specimens with internal and external stakeholders, including industry sponsors and collaborating organizations.
      • Facilitates and coordinates project meetings and collaborative working groups, setting agendas, circulating action items, and ensuring effective communication and impactful outcomes.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree.
      • Six years of relevant experience.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.
      • Demonstrated relevant experience preferably spanning clinical and preclinical work.
      • Demonstrated experience working effectively with scientists, clinicians, and stakeholders.
      • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with a proven track record of effective scientific communication and collaboration.
