      Job Title: Lead Roofer Wage/Hour Status: None xempt

      Reports to: Facilities Director Pay Grade: 8

      Dept. /School: Facilities Days: 2 47

      Supervises: None

      Primary Purpose:

      To maintain and make repairs to District roofing systems.

      Qualifications:

      Education/Certification:

      • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
      • Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License with a good driving record

      Special Knowledge Skills:

      • Ability to operate heavy equipment
      • Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
      • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade

      Experience:

      • 3-5 years’ experience in building construction with a minimum of 1 year as a roofer

      Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      • Operate heavy equipment
      • Able to perform inspections and estimates
      • Responsible for replacing ceiling tiles
      • Must be able to repair roof drains
      • Perform minor maintenance on equipment
      • Demonstrate and train other employees on various equipment as necessary
      • Site preparation
      • Haul trash and debris
      • Repair and patch roofing leaks
      • Replace building ceiling tiles
      • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

      Working Conditions:

      Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

      Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying . Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures and loud noises.
