      Lead Shuttle Attendant – Job Description

      Pay Rate $19.50 p/h (5 day of pay vacation after 6 month)

      Schedule:

      1ST Shift Lead: 07:00 am to 04:00 pm

      2nd Shift Lead: 10:30 am to 07:30 pm

      Position Overview:
      The Lead Shuttle Attendant oversees daily shuttle operations, ensuring a safe, organized, and positive experience for staff and visitors. This role serves as the primary point of contact between shuttle attendants, drivers, and management, providing direction and support while maintaining high service standards.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Greet, direct, and assist staff and visitors as they board and exit the shuttle bus, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment at all times.
      • Organize staff into orderly queues, manage boarding flow, and resolve any disputes or confusion regarding shuttle access.
      • Maintain constant communication with shuttle drivers via radio to coordinate pick-up and drop-off locations, timing, and special requests.
      • Respond to emergencies (medical, safety, or operational) by following established protocols, making quick decisions, and communicating with management and emergency services as needed.
      • Assist staff in locating their vehicles, manage and monitor staff parking areas, and enforce parking policies to ensure compliance.
      • Ensure staff remain in designated waiting and boarding areas, providing reminders and guidance as necessary.
      • Communicate walking paths and safe routes for staff who prefer to walk to JPMC, ensuring clear directions and safety reminders.
      • Proactively monitor the safety and comfort of all passengers during transit, addressing issues such as overcrowding, disruptive behavior, or accessibility needs.
      • Provide accurate information and directions about shuttle schedules, routes, and facility locations.
      • Observe passenger behavior, intervene in conflicts or unsafe situations, and de-escalate issues professionally.
      • Assist passengers with luggage, mobility devices, or other belongings as needed.
      • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the shuttle bus interior by performing regular checks and light cleaning between trips.
      • Support the driver during boarding procedures, including assisting passengers with special needs and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
      • Complete and submit incident, accident, or maintenance reports to the supervisor promptly and accurately.
      • Train and mentor new shuttle attendants, setting an example for customer service and operational excellence.
      • Attend and participate in regular team meetings, providing feedback and suggestions for service improvements.

      Requirements:

      • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
      • Professional appearance and ability to represent ABM’s values at all times.
      • Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions for extended periods.
      • Proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
      • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and decisive under pressure or in emergencies.
      • Physical ability to assist passengers, lift luggage, and stand or walk for long periods.
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing queues and safety protocols.
      • Dependable, punctual, and committed to following all safety and operational procedures.
      • Prior experience in transportation, hospitality, or customer-facing supervisory role preferred.
      • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings.
