- Writing modular, well tested code that remain easy to maintain as the codebase and business continues to scale.
- Ensuring software is built in a way which is consistent with - and exploits where possible - the collective frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider Engineering community.
- Understand and apply industry standard processes, foster knowledge sharing to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate.
- Continuous focus on delivering business value through sound engineering methods and principles.
- Utilise expertise to assess feasibility of solutions from a range of software engineering colleagues within the team.
- Provide consultancy when triaging live production service issues and ensuring they are suitably resolved.
- On occasion there will be an expectation to support out of hours regression testing.
- A “can-do” demeanor, capability of bootstrapping projects and ability to optimally work with multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle.
- Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, and adaptable web design in addition to knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Technical background with experience of Programming Languages including JavaScript, Java, SQL/noSQL, Python, etc..
- Strong professional experience with React or similar and state management libraries (redux, react-query).
- Practical experience working on Node.js microservices.
- Able to utilise source code repositories and change management tools, i.e. Git.
- Strong understanding of Single Page Application development.
- Knowledge of agile development practices and test automation (Unit/Integration/E2E testing).
- Experience with build processes and release automation (Azure Pipelines and Azure DevOps).
- Strong knowledge of the entire software development life-cycle from inception, through build to production.
- Confidence to express own opinions and be pragmatic about modifying them when appropriate.
- Excellent team working and communication skills.

Location: Bristol. Hybrid working arrangements, (currently at least 2 days per week in office)
