      Job Description

      U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Lead Software Engineer (Multiple Openings) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      The Lead Software Engineer (Multiple Openings) will design and development experiences to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. In this role the Lead Software Engineer (Multiple Openings) will be part of the team established to configure and develop complex application systems using existing and emerging technology platforms, and consult with business users on requirements gathering, system design, configuration, and implementation. The Lead Software Engineer (Multiple Openings) to work on Microservices for FX backend using the latest technologies, such as APIs, Cloud, and CI/CD. Essential responsibilities include: Design, code, test, debug, document, maintain and modify computer programs of high complexity, significance, and risk; Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; Participate in application architecture functions including estimating and defining timetables, cost and project tasks; Lead a nimble team of engineers to adopt & advocate for best engineering practices, reusable module designs result in a quality and fast-paced deliverable; Recommend solutions to improve business with a focus on core architecture, technology strategies and standards; Guide others through change impact analysis; Review, analyze, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed; Create and recommend improvements to unit, test plans and testing process based on assessment of organizational needs; Design basic and detailed program specifications while ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved by managing interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations; and Guide technical staff and business partners to investigate, review, and solve complex, multidisciplinary business problems.

      Hybrid schedule available upon manager approval.

      Basic Qualifications:

      Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems plus 2 years of experience as a Lead Software Engineer, Software Engineering Project Manager, or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems plus 5 years of experience as a Lead Software Engineer, Software Engineering Project Manager or related in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience.

      Required Skills/Experience:
      Must have 2 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with: Java Development Kit (JDK); Microservices; Spring Boot; Spring Data for GemFire; Spring Batch; ServiceNow; Unix; Oracle; H2 Database; JaxRS; Kafka; Active MQ; JSON; XML; IntelliJ; Bitbucket; Fiddler 4; HP Fortify; Work Automation; Blackduck; Swagger; Jira; and Maven. Hybrid schedule available upon manager approval. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $149,469.00 - $ 181,100.
