An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team.

This is an exciting time for an experienced and high motivated pharmacy technician to join department. You will work closely in collaboration with the lead pharmacist to help develop and grow the high cost drugs (HCD) and homecare service at the trust. You will regularly liaise and link in with key stakeholders including finance, homecare companies, internal pharmacy colleagues, clinical teams and commissioners around management of HCDs and homecare. The homecare service at Sherwood Forest has grown significantly in the past several years serving over 2000 patients. You will have the responsibility to manage and develop the homecare service with support from the lead pharmacist. This will involve using initiative, problem-solving, decision-making skills and work independently on a daily basis to provide high quality service.

Moreover, you will assist the lead pharmacist in ensuring efficient HCD stock management and implementation of systems and processes to ensure the trust is reimbursed appropriate for HCD via accurate monthly commissioning reports. Thus, computer literacy and attention to detail is of high importance.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
