      About Success Academy

      At Success Academy, we are redefining what’s possible in public education. Since opening our first school in Harlem in 2006, we have swiftly grown to 47 high-performing schools, from Bed-Stuy to the Bronx, serving approximately 20,000 kids.       Success Academy is growing quickly and this growth requires rapid scaling of all support operations to ensure increasing efficiency with increasing size. Our teachers, scholars and administrators depend on a sophisticated supply chain to ensure that books, curriculum materials, classroom furniture and technology are in the right place at the right time to maximize learning and development. Success Academy is searching for an experienced supply chain professional to lead a talented and enthusiastic team in upgrading Success Academy’s supply chain operations to state-of-the-art.

      Responsibilities:

      Reporting to the Leader, Supply Chain, the Lead of Supply Chain will:

      • Develop written policies and procedures to improve efficiency in Supply Chain and ensure compliance throughout SA

      • Administer and maintain the purchasing system by owning all configuration and software updates

      • Manage cross-functional teams with diverse stakeholders to ensure successful completion of large-scale projects

      • Develop and manage sourcing and procurement strategies to support each managed category and execute against such strategy (RFPs, RFQs, contract drafting and negotiation, etc.)

      • Develop the optimum inventory levels at the schools and create and establish a customized distribution model inclusive of both centralized and decentralized procured product

      • Upgrade systems and practices to state-of-the-art.

      • Continually drive down the cost of distributing and handling goods through process efficiency.

      • Manage the movement of inventory between locations as well as the process of tracking and identifying merchandise throughout the entire network.

      • Manage the training and roll out of materials handling process

      Qualifications

      Our ideal Lead of Supply Chain will be a graduate with a relevant degree, preferably an advanced business degree and will have at least 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management specifically in the areas of distribution and fulfillment. Able to demonstrate a track record of excellence, the ideal candidate will hold relevant professional certifications, CIPS or CPSM, for example. Sourcing experience is preferred, but not required. Comfortable in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment, our Lead of Supply Chain will be a quick learner and a team player.

      The candidate must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

      • Problem-solving. Approach challenges in creative ways and find thoughtful solutions.

      • Analytical. Evaluate systems with an eye toward continuous improvement.

      • Planning. Ability to effectively plan and manage inventory systems and processes.

      • Communication. Gear communications toward varied target audiences and employ negotiation skills as needed. Audiences include vendors, school-based staff and network staff.

      • Technology. Ability and willingness to learn and support various systems.

      • Self Starter. Ability to self manage and work independently.

      Compensation Range

      Annual Salary: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00
