Job Description

- Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
- Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
- Assist in administering assessments/program monitoring.
- Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
- Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
- Perform teacher duties in his/her absence.
- Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)
- Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
- Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
- Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
- Ensure the administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
- Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent college credits (60) or current CDA
- CPR/First Aid Training
- 45 Hour DCF Training (or complete within first 90 days)
- 1 to 3 years classroom experience preferred with PreK population.
- Prefer experience working with young children with special needs in a multi-disciplinary setting.
