- The postholder will take responsibility for the data management within the team assist in ensuring that the annual quit target is achieved.

- Responsible for recruitment and selection of staff with specialist stop smoking skills to ensure a high standard of service.
- Ensure team members achieve the NCSCT competencies in tobacco dependence treatment for mental health services.
- Ensure that team members contribute to the work of the team and that effective structures for communication and decision-making are adhered to
- Ensure that team members are aware of their responsibilities to provide services at a time, location, and venue to suit the needs of smokers.
- Meet with the public health for a review of the delivery of the service and progress against targets.
- Manage the stop smoking service budget and ensure that services are delivered within budget.
- Implement a marketing and communications strategy.
- Develop and present business cases for additional funding for targeted projects.
- Lead the development of tobacco dependence treatment policies, guidance, pathways across all Oxleas services.
- Be responsible for setting up and the management of the tobacco dependence database, including interrogation, data analysis, running reports
- Ensure that advisors are providing accurate and timely data and provide specialist training as necessary.
- Ensure that the monthly data return is on-time and accurate and that appropriate information is shared with all other relevant.

- Support the development of a performance management culture within the team and across all advisory activity, based on the delivery of the service, the collection of accurate and timely data and the use of that information to improve performance.
- Ensure the provision of a highly specialist high quality, accessible stop smoking service to clients. The service should enable good outcomes for clients, be accessible and client-centred and be available at times and locations to suit those who wish to attend.
- Provide highly specialist and skilled stop smoking interventions in both 1:1 and group settings.
- Delivering brief advice, specialist stop smoking advisor training and training updates for experienced advisors. Other training and presentations will be provided as required.
- Monitor the implementation of and adherence to PGDs in inpatient wards.
- Implement NCSCT competency framework for tobacco dependence treatment in mental health settings.
- Ensure the stop smoking service website is accurate, up to date and relevant.
- Work in partnership with commissioners, primary care, pharmacies, and other community-based services to ensure there are as many opportunities as possible for people to access Stop Smoking Services
- Work with all potential referrers across Oxleas and ensure that the importance of brief advice is communicated through meetings and training.
- Attend training courses and conferences as appropriate.
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed and kept up to date.
- Lead on audit and quality improvements in respect of tobacco dependence treatment activities.
- Involve service users in co-designing services.
- Audit compliance with NICE and review CLEAR assessment.
- Promote the service at a strategic level, building on relationships with key partners.
- Liaise with the NCSCT (National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training) to help increase the effectiveness of the local stop smoking service and maximise the use of the on-line training resources.

Job summary
This exciting new role will contribute to the delivery of the Oxleas Stop Smoking Service objectives and the wider objectives of the Trust by providing high-quality, expert stop smoking interventions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can produce results in a challenging environment. As the Lead it will be your responsibility to implement and coordinate the Tobacco Dependence Treatment Service.
This role requires an ability to manage time and resources effectively to ensure that you hit targets and provide highly effective support for smokers who are admitted to our hospitals.
Candidates with experience of project management, line management, and delivering stop smoking interventions would be ideally suited to this role, as would individuals with clinical experience in the hospital setting.
Main duties of the job
The Lead for Tobacco Dependence Treatment will be the trustwide lead for tobacco dependence treatment and deliver the smoking element of the NHS Long Term Plan by establishing a stop smoking service for mental health inpatient units based upon the Ottawa and CURE Models of Smoking Cessation.
