      The Organization

      North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.

      LOCATION: Consumer Services (SFV, AV, SCV)

      Supervision

      Receives supervision from Consumer Services Managers.

      The Position and Job Summary

      Responsible for ensuring delivery of quality information and services in assigned department.

      • Train CSCs in reviewing and addressing issues related to documenting the IFSP/IPP, updating the ESR/CDER, delivery of services per the IFSP/IPP, documenting Title 19 Notes, assessing need to implement services and supports, Purchase of Service Requests and managing current authorizations, generic resources, Notice of Proposed Action, residential placement process/living options, and Co-Pay.
      • Review NSO trainings information with new hires to assure understanding and development of competency-based skills.
      • May require re-training staff on needed areas that will be identified.
      • Assist in reviewing and providing feedback on IFSP/IPPs/AR/Triennials/Addendums/IFSP periodic reviews reports.
      • Shadows and coaches CSCs in the field when planning and conducting meetings.
      • Assist in addressing issues specific to service delivery and program planning including assessing service provision.
      • Provide training regarding consultation process and steps when seeking consultation through Exception Staffing, Medical/Clinical/and/or Behavioral consultations.
      • Assist in planning meetings with staff and/or vendors as needed.
      • May be asked to perform other tasks/ activities to ensure that applicable timelines, quality assurance and customer service goals are met
      • May carry a temporary caseload that does not exceed 50% of the average caseload in the department, assignments may be used for training purposes.
      • Provide additional support as needed in training staff through the new CSC onboarding process and on new processes implemented by the Center.
      • Provide input and feedback on staffs’ progress during the first 6 months of employment to include on performance appraisals regarding employee’s progress to learn the role as a service coordinator and the knowledge and skills that is expected from a new employee to retain during the onboarding and training process.

      Education & Experience

      Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related human services field and two years of related experience. A Master’s degree in a related subject may be substituted for experience. 5 years of Regional Center experience/Consumer Services Coordinator. professional experience

      Abilities:

      Must be able to maintain focus continuous attention to detailed processes as well as fairly routine processes. Enthusiasm for teaching and learning, adaptability, and ability to assess staff’s learning modes. Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment is required. An ability to lead and/or train other associates.

      ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

      Service coordination is a community-based position that requires meeting with individuals served and their families in their homes, in the community, or in our office location. As a lead, must be comfortable working with a high degree of independence, and be able to provide support and guidance to staff. Frequent telephone, virtual, and out-of-office meetings required. Valid California Driver’s License and reliable and transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.

      Compensation

      This position is non-exempt. Regular Salary: $33.71 - $47.63 USD Hourly, Grade 10.


      Base Pay Rate / Salary Range Information

      The actual amount offered within the posted salary/pay rate range will depend on a variety of factors, including degree obtained/education, experience, skills and abilities, and other relevant job-related factors. The lower end of salary range applies to candidates who meet minimum qualifications or have limited years of relevant experience; the higher end of range will apply to seasoned candidates with considerable years of direct relevant experience.
