- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with agents, other employees, policyholders, applicants, and other external entities aiding and explaining Company underwriting policies, practices, and procedures while adhering to corporate privacy guidelines.
- Strong personal computer skills, including the ability to learn new software products.
- Ability to manage time effectively, maintain workloads and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude, work well in team situations and sustain a good working relationship with others.
- Ability to train new Associates and assist them in their understanding of department systems and procedures.
- Typically requires three or more years’ experience becoming proficient as an Underwriting Associate.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation

Lead Underwriting Associate – Personal Lines
$22.92 / hour starting pay
Job Level: Individual Contributor
What You Will Be Doing:
Handle a variety of routine and complex processes, providing expertise and consultation to the existing Underwriting Associate staff and other department members. Has primary responsibility for Underwriting Associate training, which includes new employee training and the overall coordination of the process, ensuring the material is accurate, up-to-date, properly documented, and effectively delivered; and communicates with others involved in the process, as needed. Monitor issues impacting underwriting processes and conducts training to educate underwriting staff on those issues.
