- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares quantities shown on packing slips to actual items received and original purchase order.
- Prepares bills of lading for each shipment and checks and records all items loaded for shipment.
- Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method.
- Selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
- Maintains other shipping records such as goods returned, returnable pallets and other shipping materials.
- Inspects items according to instructions; reports damaged goods to Director; and arranges for any necessary returns.
- Enters receipt of goods into computerized inventory records, including item number, quantity, price, etc., according to instructions.
- Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
- Spot-checks inventory on a daily basis.
- Reconciles computer records with physical inventory according to established schedule.
- Reports any discrepancies to Director, over-shipments or substitutions have been made.
- Provide advice regarding supplies or property including price and availability.
- Coordinate disposal of surplus property and manage record retention.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and trash areas.
- Maximize work load through effective and proper procedures for receiving all products.
- Three to five years’ experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse techniques, supervising people and processes.
- Two year degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to input data on computer to create a daily inventory report, routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.
- Analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Knowledge of Alcohol Beverage Control laws for local area. Knowledge of Health regulations, applicable OSHA regulations and Gaming regulations.
- Ability to lead, guide, and train employees performing related work.
- Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.
