      Lead Wetland Delineator / Ecologist


      Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT) is looking for a Lead Wetland Delineator / Ecologist to help expand our Natural Resources service line by leading delineation efforts. Successful candidates will be able to lead and organize field projects, mentor team members, provide technical oversight, and delegate task responsibilities to appropriate team members. By leveraging existing client relationships and creating new business development opportunities, career growth opportunities are available for the ideal candidate to assist with growing ECT’s presence in the Texas Region.

      This position will report to the Texas Region Associate Operations Manager. The candidate can be located anywhere within the general Texas Region; however, the ideal candidate will be in the Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio areas.

      Key Responsibilities and Duties:

      • Mentor team members and complete field work for environmental studies (e.g., wetland delineations, vegetation mapping, wildlife surveys, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, ecological surveys, mitigation compliance, and construction and oversight monitoring) for variety of clients
      • Perform office-based environmental studies, prepare reports, and conduct QA/QC of field data

      Education & Experience:

      • Undergraduate/graduate degree in natural resources, terrestrial or aquatic ecology, or related environmental field
      • Minimum 3 years of experience related to wetland delineations and threatened and endangered species habitat assessments
      • Familiarity with wetland delineation processes in multiple regions across the United States, especially Arid West, Great Plains, and Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain
      • Experience with understanding waters of the U.S., ArcGIS, and wildlife and plant identification
      • Previous consulting experience is required, with preference for renewable energy, electric transmission, and oil/gas experience

      Job Essentials:

      • Self-motivated individual with sound professional judgement that can work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
      • Ability to juggle multiple projects and evolving priorities without missing deadlines or losing sight of overall project goals
      • Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, Microsoft Office capabilities, technical writing skills, and GPS understanding required
      • Travel will consist of leading field work and mentoring team members
      • Travel will be dependent on project demands
      • Ability to lift heavy objects, potentially work long days, and work in various environmental conditions, such as areas in and around water, areas with rough terrain, and during varying weather conditions
      • Valid Driver's license with clean driving record required
