Act as a key member of both Marsh Pacific’s Strategic Risk Consulting leadership group, as well as the APAC COE on climate risk.
Lead and contribute to adaptation consulting projects across the APAC region where you have established credibility and experience.
Develop strong internal networks to build an integrated adaptation value proposition across Marsh Advisory services including engineering and resilience.
Build Marsh Climate & Sustainability’s external presence and visibility in the APAC region on the topic of climate adaptation, provide thought leadership on the subject, and develop industry and academic networks.
Apply strong communication and influencing skills – capable of presenting complex analytical topics across all levels of an organisation including senior stakeholders (boards of directors and C-suite).
Develop junior team members to support the delivery of climate change solutions to meet client needs and grow their capabilities and skills in physical climate risk.
Strong background in resilience and climate adaptation services, and significant experience in turning analytics into decision-relevant advice to corporates on how to reduce the impacts of climate change over time.
Excellent understanding of the science of climate change and the modelling of its physical impact, including the application and interpretation of GCMs, RCMs, down-scaling methods, hazard modelling, and how this is applied to assess impacts on physical assets and supply chains.
Strong external presence building Marsh’s name in climate adaptation and highlighting the role of insurance and risk management in the domain.
Ability to work effectively within a team and bring your skills to bear together with our experts from across the physical risk and resilience space.
Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues globally and our partners to develop innovative solutions.
Experience in key industries such as energy and power, manufacturing, or agriculture.
Experience with adaptation concepts and decision making under uncertainty, e.g. adaptation pathways and robust-decision making frameworks.
Postgraduate degree such as an PhD, MBA or Master’s degree in an academic field relevant to climate change.
Exceptional client management skills.
Team development experience including hiring and onboarding of new consultants and ongoing people management.
Experience with natural catastrophe models and concepts.

What can you expect?
Marsh Advisory is seeking an experienced candidate to join our Climate & Sustainability practice in the Asia Pacific region and lead our proposition on climate adaptation and resilience.
While the role will be based in Australia and have a focus on the Pacific region, you will also be a key member of Marsh’s Asia Pacific (APAC) Centre of Excellence on Climate Risk. This role will be responsible for integrating existing capabilities across the Climate & Sustainability practice in climate science, vulnerability assessment, and scenario analysis by coordinating expertise across the broader Marsh Advisory team in engineering and resilience services to provide a holistic adaptation offering to some of APAC’s largest companies.
With Marsh’s position as one of the largest risk and insurance partners in the APAC region, this role provides excellent access to top tier clients across all industries who actively reach out to us about their climate risk challenges. You will be responsible for advising them on how to combine structural, operational, and people-focused risk management approaches to manage physical climate risk across their footprint including their supply chain.
You will be supported by experts in natural catastrophe modelling, climate analytics, and climate science, and a fast-growing team of consultants across the region in Marsh Advisory, along with access to the broader insurance insights and capabilities of Marsh and the whole of Marsh McLennan.
