      DEPARTMENT: Equity, Belonging & Growth

      LED BY: Namita Eveloy, Director of Equity, Belonging & Growth

      HOURS: Full-time, Flexible schedule. On rare occasions, evening and weekend event participation is required

      STARTING PAY: $80,000-95,000 Annually

      WORK SETTING: Hybrid schedule working from Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park 2-3 days per week

      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing innovative learning and development programs that advance Second Harvest Heartland's key workforce capabilities, and align with our mission and values. This role will focus on enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of our workforce, with a special focus on developing managers and leaders, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and learning objectives across various departments.
      • Develop and implement innovative training programs, both virtual and in-person, utilizing various instructional techniques and formats.
      • Design and produce engaging learning content, including e-learning modules, videos, presentations, and other educational materials.
      • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
      • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars, and evaluate their effectiveness through assessments and feedback mechanisms.
      • Analyze training data and metrics to measure the impact and success of learning initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
      • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in learning and development to enhance training programs.
      • Provide guidance and support to employees, managers, and HR regarding learning opportunities, career development, and professional growth.

      ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

      • 3 – 5 years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
      • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery.
      • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
      • Experience implementing and managing blended learning approaches.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and measure the effectiveness of training programs.

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Experience working in a corporate environment or across diverse industries.
      • Familiarity with multimedia tools and technologies for content creation (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360).
      • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and creating professional quality slides are highly desirable
      • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and Articulate Storyline and Rise or other eLearning software/tools.
      • HR Business Partner experience
      • Cultural competence and IDI certification highly desirable
      • Experience with mission driven organizations is desirable
