Ready to Teach the Cultural Evolution of Fashion and Visual Trends?

At Istituto Marang oni Dubai, we believe education is more than knowledge—it’s a mindset of curiosity, cultural awareness, and critical thinking.

We empower talent to explore how historical fashion trends, aesthetic movements, and visual cultures shape contemporary design and communication—and we’re looking for experts who share this vision.

We’re Looking For: Part-Time Lecturer in Fashion Trend History

Join us to teach within the Visual Design BA programme, delivering theoretical modules that explore the evolution of fashion trends and aesthetic movements throughout the 20th century.

These courses examine how cultural, social, and political contexts influence visual identities across fashion, art, design, media, and architecture—while helping students connect historical references to contemporary creative industries.

You will lead engaging lectures, seminars, and discussions that foster analytical thinking, academic research, and cross-sector understanding.

Together, we’ll explore the visual codes of historical decades, avant-garde movements, and the reinterpretation of past aesthetics in contemporary fashion and visual communication.

      What You’ll Do

      • Deliver high-quality theoretical lectures aligned with academic standards and institutional methodology

      • Guide students in contextual research and structured academic writing

      • Facilitate critical discussions linking historical movements to contemporary design practice

      • Design formative and summative assessments aligned with course learning outcomes

      • Prepare and update lecture materials, reading lists, and academic documentation

      • Provide structured feedback on research work, presentations, and written assignments

      • Promote interdisciplinary thinking across fashion, art, branding, media, and architecture

      • Support academic initiatives such as exhibitions, talks, and trend-related events

      What We’re Looking For

      • Master’s degree in Fashion History, Fashion Studies, Art History, Visual Culture, or related discipline

      • Strong expertise in 20th-century fashion decades and aesthetic movements

      • 3+ years of academic or professional experience in fashion history, trend research, or visual culture

      • Experience in theoretical teaching and academic research methodologies

      • Ability to connect historical analysis to contemporary design and visual communication

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency required)

      • Strong analytical, organizational, and academic documentation skills

      • UAE Ministry of Education equivalency (or willingness to obtain)

      • UAE residency preferred
