Deliver high-quality theoretical lectures aligned with academic standards and institutional methodology
Guide students in contextual research and structured academic writing
Facilitate critical discussions linking historical movements to contemporary design practice
Design formative and summative assessments aligned with course learning outcomes
Prepare and update lecture materials, reading lists, and academic documentation
Provide structured feedback on research work, presentations, and written assignments
Promote interdisciplinary thinking across fashion, art, branding, media, and architecture
Support academic initiatives such as exhibitions, talks, and trend-related events
Master’s degree in Fashion History, Fashion Studies, Art History, Visual Culture, or related discipline
Strong expertise in 20th-century fashion decades and aesthetic movements
3+ years of academic or professional experience in fashion history, trend research, or visual culture
Experience in theoretical teaching and academic research methodologies
Ability to connect historical analysis to contemporary design and visual communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency required)
Strong analytical, organizational, and academic documentation skills
UAE Ministry of Education equivalency (or willingness to obtain)
UAE residency preferred

We’re Looking For: Part-Time Lecturer in Fashion Trend History
Join us to teach within the Visual Design BA programme, delivering theoretical modules that explore the evolution of fashion trends and aesthetic movements throughout the 20th century.
These courses examine how cultural, social, and political contexts influence visual identities across fashion, art, design, media, and architecture—while helping students connect historical references to contemporary creative industries.
You will lead engaging lectures, seminars, and discussions that foster analytical thinking, academic research, and cross-sector understanding.
Together, we’ll explore the visual codes of historical decades, avant-garde movements, and the reinterpretation of past aesthetics in contemporary fashion and visual communication.
