What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer elevated calls and inquiries, performing complex research in multiple databases to assist Validators
- Analyze jurisdiction and issues by reviewing documents and identifying errors for case management
- Process requests for postponements and withdrawals, maintaining accurate case notes in the Appeals Processing System
- Ensure incoming appeals meet deadlines mandated by Federal and State laws
- Communicate with parties on behalf of Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) to facilitate timely scheduling of hearings
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience as a legal assistant
- Knowledge of Arizona Public Assistance and Unemployment Insurance law, practices, and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), Google Apps, and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license if driving is required for state business
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Paralegal or Legal Assistant Certification from an accredited university or ABA accredited training program
- Associate degree from an accredited college
