What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage calendaring for 15 attorneys, ensuring accurate scheduling of court conferences, mediations, and depositions
- Utilize software to prepare, e-file, and serve legal documents required by New York courts
- Maintain electronic legal files and review daily electronic mail
- Process invoices for payment and assist attorneys in trial preparation
- Offer professional diplomacy in interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and court employees
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a paperless insurance defense law office or corporate law department
- Strong working knowledge of the New York court systems and processes
- Experience in a high-volume litigation environment, including document production and discovery preparation
- Proficiency with case management software and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, & PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work for multiple attorneys
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Tort experience in personal injury work
- Trial preparation experience
- Familiarity with electronic document formats such as TIF, PDF, and JPG
