LEGAL COUNSEL – THALES EURAM

Legal Counsel within the Legal Department of Thales Euram (the “Regional Hub”).

Location

The Job Holder will be based on a full time basis within the Regional Hub premises located in Madrid. However the Job Holder may travel from time to time in the countries of the regions within the scope of the Regional Hub: Europe and Latin America (the “Regions”).

Operational context / Description of activities

Thales international organization’s mission in the Regions is to foster and manage growth of Thales presence in all the countries of these Regions for all Thales group activities in the aerospace, transport, space, defense and security domains.

In this context, the Regional Hub supports Thales Operational Units initiatives for exporting their solutions to customers in the Regions.

Job description

• The Job Holder will be a key element in the implementation of Thales Compliance Program, and as such, will contribute to the evolution of the Thales Group organization as well as of its way of working, in order to take into consideration the evolutions of its environment, new laws & regulations and the best ethical and governance practices.

• The Job Holder will be responsible to monitor and support the strict application of the integrity assessment of third parties (i.e. partners, suppliers, customers, distributors, etc.) with whom the Thales Group entities under the responsibility of the Regional Hub has a commercial relationship.

• The Job Holder will be responsible for addressing corporate law, governance and compliance aspects for local Thales companies, JVs and branches.

Reporting lines

The Job Holder will report directly to the Legal & Contracts Director of the Regional Hub and will be part of the Thales International Legal & Contracts team.

Background

The Job Holder shall have between 4 to 6 years of professional experience as in-house lawyer providing support to business in an international environment. He/She shall have a good practice of international contracts and compliance issues.

He/She shall have a perfect command of English and French.

He/She shall be autonomous, meticulous, self-confident, "teamwork capable", well organized and have an interest for the Regions’ cultures, traditions and way of life.

The Job Holder shall also be proficient with the use of software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
