      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      This position, legal team intern, will be responsible for supporting a variety of legal & compliance projects. Specific projects are related to our Artificial Intelligence Governance Framework, implementation of a contract management system, establishing a regulatory monitoring system, assisting with privacy projects, and providing support for various compliance training initiatives. In addition, this intern position will provide support to other members of the Ascend legal team on a variety of corporate or business issues as they arise. This is a great opportunity to learn about compliance frameworks while also getting exposure to the in-house legal function.

      This position offers the flexibility of remote work within the continental United States.

      HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

      • Review current research and best practices; synthesize that information into practical steps
      • Keep up to date on new research, use-cases, court cases, etc
      • Research legislative actions to determine impact
      • Discuss findings with teammates
      • Create communications and trainings
      • Assist with implementation of contract management system
      • Attend team meetings
      • Represent the legal and compliance team at other company meetings

      WHAT YOU'LL NEED

      • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from law school
      • Interested in compliance, regulatory, artificial intelligence and general law department needs
      • Excellent research and writing skills
      • Able to distill complex information into practical advice
      • Self-starter
      • Curious
      • Trust-worthy
