      Leisure Sales Manager

      POSITION SUMMARY

      Working at the Pendry Newport Beach, the Leisure Sales Manager is responsible to prospect, establish, nurture, and grow a broad base of leisure and corporate focused accounts that enable the hotel to meet and/or exceed set revenue goals. In addition, this position will provide sales logistics support to the Leisure Sales team in terms of trade shows, roadshows, and Montage International client events. This position is designated for a sales professional who has demonstrated the ability to consistently perform in terms of demanding & detailed client relationships as well as the revenue production. This position will also be exposed to the company’s focus on omni-channel / source agnostic revenue streams including consumer direct, OTA, wholesale, and corporate accounts.

      As a sales manager, this individual will be a representative of the company at events and when on-property at Pendry Newport Beach.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through outside sales calls, site visits, familiarization visit planning, virtual meetings, telephone, and written communication.
      • Prepare correspondence to leisure and corporate accounts in a timely manner.
      • Account management using OPERA + sales/account management software.
      • Prospect for new business, creating new leads and awareness for the hotel.
      • Travel to strategic trade shows and customer events.
      • Partner with corporate revenue management team on strategy for travel industry partnerships to ensure brand alignment.
      • Target accounts, markets, or segments with a heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
      • Understands the overall market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and knows how to sell against them.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Additional Responsibilities

      • Utilizes intranet for resources, templates, and information.
      • Participates in site visits.
      • Develops and facilitates execution of contracts as required.
      • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
      • Executes the brand’s Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards through the sales process.
      • Work with Director of Sales and other members of team to ensure adequate coverage of the Sales Department. Field unsolicited leads as allocated.
      • Coordinate all details of bookings from these accounts with the assistance of Sales Assistant.
      • Work to achieve annual budgetary goals with respect to occupancy and revenue in group segment. Achieve monthly and annual quotas.
      • Manage relationships with accounts and ensure that all information/history in daylight is current and accurate.

      Secondary Job Functions:

      • Continually update Delphi database with contact information.
      • Assist Director of Sales with development of sales strategies and planning
      • Assist with preparation of annual rooms’ budget and marketing plan.
      • Act as a backup sales resource in any capacity including handling leisure and corporate business travel reservations when needed.

      REQUIREMENTS

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

      • 3+ years progressive experience in travel industry sales

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

      • Strong technical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
      • Excellent project management and process improvement skills; demonstrated ability and track record of moving projects from design to deployment.
      • Passion for continuously improving the experience of our associates.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Strong leadership and team management skills.

      The pay scale* for Leisure Sales Manager is $80,000 to $90,000.

      *The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
