      Under general supervision, this position provides exemplary customer service and programs to the general public.

      Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

      • Employs technologies to deliver high level reference service, reader’s advisory, and programs to the public.

      • Conducts training for the public related to digital literacy and provides technical computer assistance.

      • Creates and implements programs by identifying potential areas of interests and or needs of patrons.

      • Assists with the development of a portion of the collection.

      • Maintains and updates a portion of the library website and other social media outlets.

      • Serves as liaison to other city departments, community groups, and outside agencies; provides outreach services to the community; conducts tours of the library.

      • Performs general library duties, including but not limited to, opening and closing procedures; troubleshoots computer issues; assists at the circulation desk; participates in training staff and volunteers.

      • Performs other duties as assigned to meet goals and objectives of the library.
      • Master's Degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
      • One (1) year of public library experience is preferred, but not required.
      • Bilingual skills are beneficial.
      • Possession of, or the ability to obtain by start of employment, a valid Texas driver license.
