      Library Outreach & Metadata Coordinator (Full-Time)

      SALARY:

      $20.00 - $22.00+ per hour, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

      Primary Purpose

      To contact and foster relationships with the library's patrons, engage in the RVU community and increase awareness of the Frank Ritchel Ames Memorial Library's vision.

      Essential Job Functions

      • Implements and promotes library services and programs to support students and faculty.
      • Create library marketing materials.
      • Maintain the library’s electronic presence through social media, Microsoft Team, LibGuides email, and establishing a presence in campus newsletters.
      • Develop relationships with groups across campus to assess their need for outreach and establish how the library can fill that void.
      • Engage in the Rocky Vista University community.
      • Assist and coordinate the creation and dissemination of print and electronic research guides, tutorials, and other technology-based tools to reeducate and assist patrons.
      • Assist and coordinate library events, exhibits, and improve on the spaces and impact the Library has on the community.
      • Coordinate with vendors that include but are not limited to trial management and new product research.
      • Take an active role in administrative duties such as surveys, website maintenance, and procedural training alongside the members of the Library Executive Council.
      • Assist the Collection Development Librarian and Repository and Instruction Librarian by cataloging and maintaining the accuracy of the Library’s Online Public Access Catalog and Institutional Repository using standard metadata schemas.
      • Collect, manage, compile Library usage statistics and disseminate data back to stakeholders.

      Marginal Job Functions

      • Assist administration in special projects as necessary.
      • Attend and participate in select school functions and activities.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Familiarity with library systems and databases.
      • Information literacy and research skills necessary to review and respond to basic research and reference inquiries.
      • Strong communicative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
      • Ability to respond to situations independently, or identify when managerial support is needed.
      • Intermediate level of computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products.
      • Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
      • Ability to work effectively, cohesively, and professionally in a team-based environment.
      • Ability to lift 25 lb. boxes, maneuver book carts, and shelve books.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions related to computer use, photocopiers, phones, and office and library software.
      • MLIS or research background.
      • Demonstrated commitment to valuing equity, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
      • One (1) - three (3) years experience in a library setting, clerical experience, or equivalent

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience providing library instruction and/or reference services
      • Familiarity with metadata schemas
      • Familiarity with assessment measures
      • Familiarity with LibGuides
