- Lead the Lighting & Comp on the series in collaboration with other Kickstart team members to help establish the overall series look and style, setting clear objectives, conducting regular check-ins, monitoring progress and reporting results to Production.
- Establish the look of each sequence and present in a per-episode Lighting kickoff
- Review all shots after final animation in collaboration with key creatives while interpreting and implementing their vision, ensuring the highest levels of artistic quality and technical continuity throughout the series.
- Proactively provide ideas and solutions in relation to Client requests, production technology and pipeline concerns.
- Work closely with Producers and the Production team to ensure that all production deadlines are met while producing work at a high level of quality, keeping with production requirements and standards
- Work in collaboration with Animation Director, CG Supervisor and Production to implement new tools and workflows which increase productivity and efficiency
- Review materials and collaborate with overseas partner studio(s) to ensure a smooth information flow between locations, both files and personal communication.
- Document all Lighting & Comp Department workflows and best practices and present to Producers and Head of Production for review, collaboration and inclusion in company wiki.
- Analyze the successes, failures and lessons learned during the production process for inclusion in interstitial (“Introspective”) and final post-mortem (“Retrospective”) reports.
- Participate in any relevant production related meetings by offering solutions to problems and listening to the team's concerns.
- Lead additional departmental tasks as assigned by the Line Producer and Supervising Director.
- Cultivate strong client communication and care

- Experience working in the animation or VFX industry with 2+ years of experience in Lighting & Comp roles.
- Excellent demonstrated knowledge of lighting and compositing principles, especially in CG Production.
- Excellent communication, proactive problem-solving, time management, multi-tasking and people management skills.
- Strong leadership and teambuilding skills with the ability to work with an Overseas Partner Studio.
- Ability to communicate creative and technical topics for discussion in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to process and communicate creative feedback from the key creatives to the Animation team(s).
- Ability to work on multiple tasks either alone (self motivated) or collaboratively, oftentimes on tight deadlines.
- Experience working closely with Directors, TDs and Supervisors to resolve technical problems and increase efficiencies.
- Ability to adapt to changes in pipeline, software and technology and a knowledge of industry standards.
- Working with an overseas partner studio is an asset.
- Compositing in Nuke
- Maya (or similar CG software)
- Shotgrid
- GSuite
- After Effects experience is a plus
