      Responsibilities:

      Marketing is seeking deep customer understanding to deliver an unparalleled experience for people interacting with Lilly. At Eli Lilly and Company, Marketing is the company’s catalyst for delivering unparalleled customer experiences.

      The Lilly Marketing Academy (LMA) is a 12-month rotational and development program for people starting a marketing career at Lilly and is designed to enable persons without significant prior marketing experience to develop marketing competencies critical for successful performance in an increasingly complex marketplace. Built upon the 70/20/10 adult learning principal, the LMA is comprised of formal, social, and experiential training opportunities. Participants complete 2, six-month rotations in a progressive series of entry level marketing roles under the supervision/coaching of an experienced marketer. Upon completion of two successful rotations, participants graduate from the program and are eligible to post for Marketing roles.

      NOTE: Due to the rotational nature of this program, the start date for this position does nor occur until late January 2024.


      Key Performance Objectives/Deliverables for persons in Lilly Marketing Academy (LMA) positions:


      1. Successful completion of two rotations, in addition to completing all marketing required training.

      2. Develop and demonstrate marketing competence through project assignments in key areas of brand management including:

      • Market Understanding

      • Customer Insights

      • Brand Strategy and Planning

      • Customer Experience

      • Data & Measurement

      Develop and demonstrate key transferable skills, including:

      • Continuous Learning

      • Agility

      • Problem Solving

      • Communication and Influence

      • Business Acumen

      4. Develop and demonstrate skills related to communicating with multiple key customers. (Payer, HCP, Consumer)

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree (or higher), preferably marketing or business focus

      • Minimum 24 months of previous marketing/relevant experience or minimum 24 months internal Lilly cross functional experience or combination of both by February 1, 2024 (if internal, support must be provided from direct line AVP or above).

      • Relocation to Indianapolis required.

      Additional Skills/Preferences:

      • Formal marketing education

      • Transferrable leadership skills necessary for marketing success

      • Strong oral and written communication skills

      • General Understanding of marketing function

      Additional Information:

      • Acceptance into the Lilly Marketing Academy does not guarantee future placement on a Lilly brand team. All Academy participants are evaluated throughout their Academy experience and only those that successfully complete the program may compete for brand team roles.

      • Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities. Employees hired on banded positions (ex: P1-P3, R1-R2, B1-B3, etc.) transfer at their current level, despite the level indicated on the job posting. For example, if a P2 candidate is selected for a P1-P3 banded position, the candidate will remain a P2 in the new role.
