- Maintains knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes
- Cleans all occupied rooms daily to provide a clean, sanitary environment to the patients
- Prepares discharge units and/or surgical procedure and completes end of day cleaning in surgical procedures rooms to provide a clean sanitary environment to the patients
- Maintains and clean and attractive areas including: maintaining of hard surface and carpeted flooring, cleans offices and public areas, collects and disposes of refuse
- Cleans up after emergency spills and breakages to prevent exposure to substances that could be safety hazards
- Maintains and performs special work assignments and reports to supervisor upon completion to follow quality and frequency standards in department policy and procedure manual
- Understands the security requirements of medications and IV solutions
- Restocks paper supplies upon daily cleaning of area to ensure they are adequately filled and maintains linen distribution system to provide user areas with adequate amounts of linen to give patient care
- Mixes, uses supplies and maintains equipment to aid in cost containment and safety
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Healthcare cleaning experience preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to use all housekeeping machinery
- Understands the security requirements of medications and IV solutions
- Proven ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic arithmetic as vital for completion of job duties
- Attention to Detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
- Cleaning Basic Skills: Ability to operate cleaning equipment; familiar with cleaning products, chemicals, and safety procedures
- Basic Computer Skills: Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc)
- Interpersonal Communication: Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, as well actively listening, to develop a positive connection
OverviewM Health Fairview is looking for a Linen Aide at our UMMC West Bank location, in Minneapolis, MN! The Linen Aide handles, inspects, and processes new and clean linen stocks, and assembles linen packs and issues linen. The Linen Aide also cleans the work area, and performs any related tasks as assigned or instructed.
Location: UMMC West Bank, located in Minneapolis
Hours: 16 hours biweekly, with every other weekend dedication

This position is not benefit eligible, however we do have other openings that do qualify for benefits.
