What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage complex litigation matters, including professional liability, construction, and premises defense
- Draft, file, and serve legal pleadings in state and federal courts and arbitrations
- Organize exhibits and supporting materials for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials
- Oversee complex discovery processes, including e-discovery and third-party subpoenas
- Maintain court deadlines through effective calendaring and e-filing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree and an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation paralegal experience in state and federal trial courts
- Proficiency in Westlaw, iManage, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office, and e-discovery platforms
- Strong skills in drafting legal documents and managing court deadlines
- Ability to manage Bluebooking for federal cases and state cases according to the California Style Manual
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience providing trial/arbitration support, including witness preparation and coordination with courts/vendors
- Familiarity with insurance defense litigation practices and procedures
- Strong research, writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure while juggling multiple priorities
