- Proven video engineering experience
- Expertise with live HLS encoding / streaming and DRM services
- Excellent RESTful API development and debugging skills
- Strong understanding of data interchange formats (XML, JSON)
- Strong understanding of broadcast transport technologies
- Strong understanding of live HLS encoding technologies
- Familiar with SCTE-35/104 and SCTE-224/ESNI
- Comfortable using command line tools (chmod, curl, grep, sudo, tail…)
- This role will require after-hours and weekend support
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Summary
Apple Services Engineering (ASE) Video Partner Engineering team is looking for a Live Streaming Engineer to join our Services team. Our services power experiences in the Apple TV app on Apple platforms and 3rd Party TVs. You will contribute to architectural discussions, create performant solutions, and participate in team development and knowledge growth. You will be a domain expert for live content acquisition and delivery. You will collect high-level project requirements, take ownership to lead multi-functional teams, and deliver outstanding software. You will join a hardworking and hands-on live streaming engineering team that cultivates inclusiveness, creativity, and pragmatism. We deliver highly available and performant internal solutions that power our best-in-class live streaming experiences across the Apple TV App ecosystem.Key QualificationsDescriptionWork with and lead multiple projects, teams, and timelines. Support operational teams for live streaming services. Assist in broadcast transmission check-in and validations for live events. Setup and maintain live encoding workflows. Work with multi-functional client teams to ensure live video features are preforming as expected. Solve realtime live video delivery issues, under real-time pressure. Work with operations teams to fix video delivery and DRM issues. Solve sophisticated partner and vendor integrations. Create, maintain and implement playbooks, RCAs and integration specifications.
