What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Contact all responsible parties on loans through telephonic or written communication to determine the cause of delinquency
- Assist in developing repayment arrangements or other integrity sales initiatives to reinstate member obligations
- Provide recommendations utilizing cross-selling of Credit Union products and services
- Make recommendations to supervisors regarding necessary actions to protect the Credit Union's interests
- Maintain knowledge of Debtor/Creditor Collection Law and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate of Arts/Science degree preferred
- Knowledgeable in Debtor/Creditor Collection Law and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act
- Excellent verbal communication skills; knowledge of bank/credit union loans preferred
- Proven ability to identify and evaluate issues, reach sound conclusions, and make proactive decisions
- Experience in a call center environment is beneficial; basic to intermediate operational knowledge of office and PC equipment required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bilingual (Spanish) desired
- Familiarity with bankruptcy law beneficial
- Experience with automated collection software and predictive dialing systems
