- Monitoring news and generating story ideas
- Writing news, feature, and in-depth articles and reports, with the ability to write compelling stories in a redemptive manner
- Conducting interviews (both in-person and remotely) with people of interest to our audience
- Conceptualize, shoot, and produce short video material based on related news features for social media platforms
- Develop and maintain contacts with newsmakers and news sources
- Cover events (in person and remotely) and take photos
- Must reside in the Raleigh Research Triangle area. While this is a remote position, in-person meetings or events may be required; remote work outside the region is not permitted.
- At least three years' full-time proven experience in news/magazine writing, preferably digital, to be considered
- Ability to work under deadlines without compromising reporting and writing standards
- Expert with AP style
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Agree with Crossmap’s statement of faith
Local News Reporter (Raleigh, NC)
Crossmap is seeking a dynamic, professional and motivated journalist in the Raleigh, NC and the Research Triangle area to report on local news involving and affecting the Christian community from a biblical, Christian worldview. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, proactive, hardworking, and seeker of the truth are characteristics of an ideal candidate.
The reporter will be writing daily for the Crossmap Cities online platform, which is a joint venture with The Christian Post. Local news stories may be republished on christianpost.com. This is a contractor position.Responsibilities
