- Set an example to co-workers by always practicing safe work habits. Assure work areas are free from hazards that could cause injury or accidents. Report any unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude towards customers, co-workers, subordinates, and management. Support, encourage, and participate in quality improvement projects in order that department activities meet or exceed customer and company quality, service, and performance needs and expectations.
- Maintain a good attendance/punctuality record.
- Perform job with established standards. Offer suggestions to solve problems.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of manufacturing experience.
Position Overview
Machine Operators’ responsibilities are to read instructions from the current job ticket. Set up job according to general specifications or modify if necessary. Responsible for quality of mounting or die-cutting work. Load/unload raw or finished material from machinery as needed. Initiate actions to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to solutions to problems, verify the implementation of solutions, and control further processes on problem/solutions that have been identified. Attend ongoing in-house quality, education classes.

Education and/or Experience
Mathematical SkillsAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMay be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will be standing for the majority of the day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and/or humid conditions.
