      Position Summary/Job Duties:

We’re looking for a part-time nanny to spend time with our 8- and 6-year-old kids this summer. We're hoping to find someone interested in a long-term relationship with our family, and would like to find someone who is able to continue with our family by providing after-school care at least one day a week during the 2026–2027 school year.

We’re a work-from-home family (one parent full-time, the other 2 days a week). Our kids will be in summer camps most days, so we mainly need help with camp pick-ups and hanging out with them at home until we’re done with work, plus longer hours on Fridays. We can also offer occasional weekend hours for date nights if you’re interested.

You’ll need a reliable car and a good driving record, since you’ll be picking the kids up from camps (mostly on the west side of Madison) and bringing them back to our home near West High School. Once home, we’re hoping for someone who enjoys helping kids get outside, unwind, and decompress after a busy camp day.

We pay an hourly rate, plus mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate ($0.725/mile) for all summer driving.

      Qualifications:

      Who We’re Looking For

      • You’re currently studying (or have completed) a degree in education or a related child-focused field, such as social work, child development, occupational therapy, psychology, or therapy. We especially welcome students starting graduate school, but are open to students entering their junior or senior year of college.

      • You have prior experience caring for or working with elementary-aged children.

      • Experience supporting a child with anxiety is a big plus

      • You’re patient, emotionally aware, and able to stay calm and reassuring during big feelings.

      • You genuinely enjoy pretend play, storytelling, art, and creative activities.

      • You’re happy to spend time outside in all kinds of weather.

We’re looking for someone who truly enjoys connecting with kids and is excited to support their emotional growth, creativity, and curiosity.
