  Under general direction, the Maintainer Operator/Trainer oversees, manages and directs the activities within the production areas. This position is responsible for supervising production staff, ensuring safety and compliance and making informed production decisions with minimal guidance.

  Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the production assigned staff
  • Lead employees in the safe and efficient operation of multiple manufacturing machines and production areas
  • Apply the correct procedures and work methods according to established protocols
  • Ensure that all production operations are conducted in compliance with GMP and company SOPs
  • Complete all required production paperwork and ensure it is correctly completed, filed, and stored appropriately
  • Maintain standards of good hygiene, housekeeping and environmental practice by adequate supervision of production areas and production staff
  • Create a high level of awareness of the requirement to work in a safe manner to themselves and their work colleagues. Report all Production, Health and Safety issues to the Production Manager immediately.
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required; including but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes
  • Hours may change based on production schedule (5:30am start if pre-op, and overtime and weekend work may be required)
  • To deputize in the absence of the Production Manager

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Years of Related Experience: 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SOPs and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Following and understanding verbal and written job instructions

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)

  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to operate multiple machines safely with minimal supervision and obtainnecessary production specifications. Prefer proficient communication and reasoning skills to pass on information toco-workers and to relay information to and from all employee levels including management and skilled personnel.
