MISSION

The conveyor mechanic will perform tasks including preventative and repair maintenance on conveyors and other mechanical equipment in the facility.

Schedule: 7PM-7:30AM, Sat (Friday night start) , Sun, Mon

ACTIVITIES

• Follow safety rules of Plastic Omnium and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace
• Keep a neat, clean, and organized work area
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Determine root causes of equipment failures and implement permanent solutions
• Assist and train other internal and contracted maintenance technicians
• Assist contactors with repairs, revisions, construction, and new equipment setup

Skills/Abilities:

• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
• Works well independently and with others
• Good communication skills
• Organized with attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
• Conveyor system maintenance
  • Chains, sprockets, shafts, bearings, etc.
• Use of hand tools
  • Wrenches, pry bars, torque wrenches, chain breakers, etc.
• General metal fabrication skills
  • Welding, grinding, cutting, drilling, forming, etc.
• Understands lubricants and applications

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
• Must be able to visually inspect machines
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
