      Within the Judicial Facilities, Operations and Security Unit and under the direction of the Assistant Buildings and Grounds Officer, the Maintenance Officer will be required to perform daily cleaning/janitorial, maintenance, and repair projects, as well as assist subordinates and/or vendors in this work. The Maintenance Officer will assist with the receiving and storage of cleaning/janitorial supplies, maintenance supplies, and building equipment, and will perform continuous inspection of facilities to identify areas that require cleaning/janitorial and/or repair work. Examples of daily work include but are not limited to: moving furniture, rubbish removal, snow removal, distributing mail, changing light bulbs, minor repair projects, assisting janitorial staff and vendors, and other work as directed by the supervisor.

      Education as may be gained through graduation from a senior high school or successful completion of the high school equivalency examination. Additional technical training helpful. Candidate must have a working knowledge of general building operation and maintenance activities; a working knowledge of the equipment and methods used in cleaning and custodial work; a working knowledge of the materials and equipment used in building operation and maintenance; the ability to deal effectively with supervisors, vendors and contractors. Candidate must also be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, including the ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and to climb ladders. This position is on-call 24/7/365. The selected candidate will be required to obtain a pre-employment physical examination certifying their ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
