What you will be doing:
Maintenance Specialist - Building/Facility/Construction - Journey 1 position reports to the Maintenance Foreman and is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, performing general rough and finish carpentry work. Installing and repairs carpet, flooring, tile and drywall. Prepares surfaces for paint and paint surfaces. Repairs and maintains structures and equipment. Operates heavy equipment.

The working environment you can expect:
Spring Creek Correctional Center is a maximum-security state operated adult correctional institution. The institution has a capacity of over 500 male inmates and employs approximately 200 staff. While much of Spring Creek's inmate population serve long term sentences, we also house prisoners serving shorter sentences.

Who we are looking for:
This position has the following key knowledge, responsibilities, and requirements:

• Knowledge of and the ability to perform fundamental maintenance and repair for a variety of trades and crafts work involving segments of integrating into the whole;
• Knowledge of work practices, methods and processes, and their levels of difficulty in to or more trades and crafts;
• Knowledge of codes, specifications, standards, regulations and trade manuals;
• Knowledge of computer applications used to order, inventory, organizing, monitoring and report on work;
• Knowledge of and skill to interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications and schematics.
