      Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

      Essential Duties:
      Maintenance Support Tech I:

      • Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages, and/or serves as receptionist or front
        desk assistant.
      • Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment
      • Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with Business Services on
        adjustments needed.
      • Maintains equipment service records
      • Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance,
        budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and/or permitting activities.
      • Monitors and assists with data entry for maintenance contract record keeping.
      • Monitors the use of equipment and transfers.
      • Prepares and distributes correspondence.
      • Receives, sorts, opens, evaluates content and distributes mail.
      • Reviews, prepares and/or negotiates applicable program purchases for services, office materials, supplies, tools and/or
        equipment and monitors contracts.
      • Maintains calendars for department personnel to include scheduling meetings, coordinating and making appointments, and
        travel arrangements.
      • Processes receipts and invoices for payment.
      • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

      Maintenance Support Tech II: in addition to the above

      • Composes and prepares correspondence and applicable recurring or special one-time reports and/or confidential and
        sensitive communications.
      • Maintains materials inventory
      • Researches and compiles information for reports or inquiries and assists in organizing, coordinating and preparing
        written or statistical reports

      Maintenance Support Tech III: in addition to the above

      • Creates and maintains related activity logs, files and reports on services
      • Evaluates and researches information to solve customer service problems.
      • Inputs and maintains daily production reports and compiles monthly reports for manager
      • Logs, files, and cross-references correspondence; and verifies documents/records
      • May serve as a lead worker and the related tasks.
      • Retrieves information from master files or databases and verifies against applications, forms and other documents
      • Coordinates with district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment
      • Prepares monthly and final maintenance contract estimates.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Maintenance Support Tech I:

      Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

      Experience: None

      Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

      Maintenance Support Tech II:

      Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

      Experience: 1 YEAR in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience.
      (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent)

      Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

      Maintenance Support Tech III:

      Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

      Experience: 3 YEARS in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience.
      (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent)

      Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

      • Shows initiative and action beyond what is required to improve products or services; is self-starting and completes
        assignments independently without constant supervision

      Maintenance Support Tech II: in addition to the above

      • Maintaining a safe and effective working relationship with others
      • Maintains composure when handling problems, stressful situations, continuous change or unexpected developments

      Maintenance Support Tech III: in addition to the above:

      • Coordinating labor, materials, and equipment
      • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports

      Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

      Maintenance Support Tech I-III:

      • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
      • Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
      • Sitting - prolonged periods of time
      • Standing-prolonged periods of time
      • Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
      • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
