- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with industrial food production and packaging equipment, including but not limited to pumps, motors, low pressure boilers, air compressors, conveyors, heat sealers, printers, labelers, blowers, warehouse dock doors, dehydrators, mills, blenders, carts, and chillers.
- Communicate relevant information about equipment and repairs to operational personnel and supervisors.
- Exhibit strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for industrial equipment and machinery.
- Perform calibration of instruments such as temperature gauges, thermocouples, pressure gauges, flowmeters, and scales, maintaining records according to the calibration plan.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Close out work orders using the web-based Maintenance Management System.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Communicate with equipment suppliers for technical support.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and other equipment.
- Comply with safety regulations, food safety programs, and other standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Assist with special projects as required.
- Be open to overtime as needed.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Experience with maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, electric meters, and other equipment

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with strong communication and problem-solving skills. In this role, you will contribute to the team by accomplishing tasks on time and with high quality, while exhibiting a sense of teamwork across all departments and job levels. You will diagnose and resolve technical problems with industrial food production and packaging equipment, as well as plant facilities.

Work Environment
This position is within a food manufacturing company. The work schedule consists of 4/10 shifts, from Thursday to Sunday, 5pm to 3:30am. You will work with a variety of technologies and equipment in a clean and orderly facility, adhering to safety and food safety regulations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
