- Maintain effective internal controls around the tracking, accounting, and reporting of PP&E including technical GAAP and SEC considerations and impact to the business of changes
- Manage the month-end close process as it relates to PP&E and work closely with other accounting teams throughout the close process
- Accountable for compliance and efficient and effective design of SOX controls over PP&E and related activities
- Maintain and update relevant PP&E policies and ensure the team is aware of any updates and changes
- Accountable for internal and external audits over the PP&E activities and reporting.
- Provides assistance with M&A activities; supports acquisition/divestiture/restructuring related to PP&E, including due diligence and integration through leadership of the Sr. Accountant that manages these processes
- Manage the day to day activities and professional development/training of direct reports
- Provide technical expertise to operations teammates; build and maintain strong relationships with facility teammates
- Work closely with the facilities, supply chain, financial operations, and accounts payable on capital purchases
- Maintain Capital Projects policies and processes, including communication of policies and maintenance of internal spend tracking dashboard.
- As a member of the accounting leadership team, mentors and coaches’ staff through effective application of SCA values and behaviors. Ensure that peers and staff continue in their development and cross training that allows for sound succession planning
- Create a culture that supports teamwork, continuous improvement and knowledge growth within and across the team
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly account reconciliations and financial reporting deliverables for all PP&E-related balance sheet accounts, including maintenance to KPI’s for each direct report
- Provide support to financial operations related to ad-hoc questions involving PP&E and preparation for partnership meetings
- Preparation of expense budget materials for annual planning cycles
- Continuously evaluate work flow processes and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient operations and opportunities for process improvement
- Assist Tax department with special projects and tax quarter-end and year-end close

QualificationsTotal education, vocational training and experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline required
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience with 2+ years of management experience required
Skills and abilities:
• Strong GAAP background (fixed asset subledger & general ledger accounting preferred)
• Process and financial reporting controls experience
• Strong data/analytical skills
• Understanding of tax requirements as they relate to PP&E preferred
• Supervisory experience; track record of teammate development
• Experience dealing with external and/or internal auditors
• Reconciliation experience in a multi-ownership and/or multiple business unit environment
• Familiarity and experience dealing with acquisition and integration accounting as it pertains to PP&E
Proficiency or productivity standards:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Access
• Exposure to Peoplesoft preferred but not required
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Independent and self-motivated
