      Summary

      Responsible for all product compliance aspects of New Product Development (NPD) for non-electric accessories, including but not limited to: design requirements/review related to associated global standards and product safety, assisting with creation of collateral material, and participating in pre-agency testing and review of associated data. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regards to REACH, RoHS, WEEE, Food Contact, Proposition 65, Packaging Recycling and other global environmental requirements for all products.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

      • Responsible for managing REACH and RoHS requirements globally, including SCIP database registration in the EU.
      • Responsible for managing Prop 65 requirements, including maintaining a summary document to share within the organization and ensuring products sold on weber.com have the appropriate warning statements assigned to them.
      • Work with Product Management to obtain information required for WERCSmart registrations of “battery containing” and “formulated” products.
      • Responsible for identifying, documenting, and communicating global textile marking/labeling requirements.
      • Responsible for all product compliance aspects of the accessory NPD from concept to certification, including capturing all details of agency testing and associated reporting via a reliable tracking mechanism.
      • Collaborate with Research & Development (R&D) and Program Management Office (PMO) to establish best in class processes related to accessory design/development/certification.
      • Interpretation of associated product standards to aid in the identification and documentation of design requirements for the Global Product Compliance team in the NPD process and maintenance activities.
      • Work with regulatory agencies globally to ensure product compliance for all non-electric accessories.
      • Prepare and maintain all required paperwork for global product compliance.
      • Participate in various pre-agency tests as a resource for R&D, when applicable.
      • Become department’s SME with all respective product standards, regulations, and directives. Provide product compliance support, guidance, and interpretation of standards for all areas of the company.
      • Ensure accuracy of content of all test reports and certificates issued by global test agencies.
      • Provide product compliance documentation to Weber subsidiaries (as required).
      • Complete information on IPS tickets pertaining to non-electrical accessory project data collection and label approval.
      • Responsible for ensuring all product literature, data/product and packaging markings are reviewed and updated whenever updates to any global standards, regulations, or directives are published.

      Qualifications:

      • Ability to communicate cross-functionally at all levels from the shop floor to Executive level in order to justify strategies and implement them effectively.
      • Ability to read/interpret technical documents, standards, directives, and regulations.
      • Competence with Microsoft Office software required.
      • Excellent follow-up skills, organization, and detail orientation.
      • High standards of integrity required.
      • Effective problem solver.
      • A bility to utilize analytical techniques to resolve conceptual issues.
      • Willing to travel as required, less than 10%.
      • Ability to work with and gain support from other departments, including R&D, Product Management, Program Management, and Finance.

      Education and/or Experience:

      Bachelor's degree (BS) in chemistry or a related field from four-year college or university, 7+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Experience with product compliance processes related to and launching mass-produced consumer goods.
      • Experience implementing a system of managing environmental product compliance requirements, including but not limited to REACH, RoHS, and Prop 65.
      • Experience in a fast paced, multi-project, manufacturing environment preferred. Consumer product experience a plus.
      • Understanding of applicable regulatory standards, regulations, directives in relation to our products and requirements to obtain global product certification, including, but not limited to, REACH, RoHS, and Food Contact Materials.
