      Purpose

      As the Manager of Transport operation, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient movement of goods both into (inbound ops), customs clearance, and out of our Distribution Centre (outbound ops) in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for managing transportation operations for all channels (B2B, Retail and eCom), optimizing routes, coordinating with carriers, customs clearance agent, and ensuring timely delivery of products while minimizing costs. Your strategic planning and operational expertise will be instrumental in maintaining smooth logistics operations.

      Key Responsibilities

      Operations Management

      • Responsible for Inbound transportation; Port to DC and DC to Customer location, Own Retail store and Ecom consumer location.
      • Responsible for customs operations
      • Collaborate with Distribution Centre and Commercial team to understand the business priority and develop operational plan for execution.
      • In charge of fixed and variable cost budgeting related to transportation and ensure the operations within the budgets.
      • Responsible for defining the SLAs and ensure transportation operations meet established standards for efficiency, timeliness, and customer satisfaction
      • Lead the transportation tender jointly with the procurement team

      Performance Management:

      • Track and improve overall transportation KPIs (OTIF, Speed, cost, NPS) for our omnichannel business (eCom, retail and wholesale)
      • Own a quantitative, data-driven, fact-based mindset in order to prioritize and manage the EU transportation excellence agenda
      • Drive performance improvement initiatives and demand process for system landscape.
      • Optimize the transportation network for better cost, service, speed and reliability

      Key Relationships:

      • Supply Chain team, Commercial Teams (Wholesale, Retail and eCOM)
      • 3PL Transporters / Carriers
      • GOPS - Global Logistics & Global Procurement
      • Business Teams in Sales (Wholesale, Direct to Consumer & ECOM), Marketing
      • Finance & Legal

      Qualifications:

      • Proven experience (5+ years) in 3PL transportation management, with a focus on inbound and outbound logistics operations. B2C (eCOM) experience is an added advantage.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
      • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
      • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Honours or Master's degree preferred.
