Job Overview
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Manufacturing & Production Planning Manager to join our growing facility in West Palm Beach, FL . This management position is responsible for leading and directing all activities related to 2nd shift manufacturing. The base shift time is 3:00pm – 12:00am.
This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.

Essential Functions
40% - This management position is responsible for the performance of union hourly personnel supporting all current and future business needs. First shift and second shift personnel will report directly to the manager. In addition, quality hourly personnel supporting manufacturing may take daily direction from the manager in a matrix reporting capacity. The manager provides direction to direct reports.
40% - The manager is responsible for manufacturing equipment and assuring employees are provided a safe, hazard free workplace, and developing and improving skill to reduce critical skills gap. The position will contribute to meeting all delivery commitments at or below target cost with the highest quality and ethical standards of conduct. The manager is also responsible for coordinating with quality and facilities personnel to maintain operation readiness of all operations and quality areas, tooling, and equipment. The Manager will be accountable to achieve all quality, cost and delivery schedule objectives and comply with the most current Standard Operating Procedure in the Quality Management System. Plans and coordinates integrated schedules for personnel, material and facilities utilization.
20% - General responsibilities include managing direct labor charging, managing department budgets, identifying and leading cost reduction initiatives, maintaining employee training and certifications, leading capital projects, comply with Quality Management and SH&E Systems and corporate policies through the application of lean processes and Six Sigma within ARBOS. Lead relentless root cause analysis investigations while striving for mistake-proof Level 1 corrective and preventive actions. Execute all management responsibilities in accordance with Aerojet Rocketdyne’s command media.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift and extra hours as needed.
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; must have the stamina to sit, stand, walk frequently and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. The use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes is required. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
