      Description

      How this Role Supports our Mission of Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment

      While receiving support from and collaborating closely with the mission leadership team, the Manager of Mission Operations will advance our mission by leading an efficient and high-performance Mission program. The Manager of Mission Operations ensures mission standards and services within our communities are executed and maintained in accordance with Goodwill's mission operations across 35 counties of North Central Wisconsin (NCW). This role is responsible for reporting program outcomes that contribute to organizational metrics, building and maintaining relationships with internal team members, participants, and outside partners to ensure all activities are performed in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and brand of Goodwill NCW.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Implements and sustains standard operating procedures, standard work, and effective team member onboarding and training. The manager assists in developing and forecasting annual service needs, operating budgets, implementing, and tracking cost-saving measures, and communicating budgetary performance.
      • Guides team to meet program goals that contribute to operational goals. Ensures best practices, standards, quality, customer satisfaction, safety, and appropriate policies and procedures to the program are followed. Addresses priorities and areas of focus to ensure the program maximizes our mission impact. Oversees accreditation and contractual standards to facilitate consistent, high-quality service delivery, as appropriate.
      • Leads human resource objectives by properly recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and evaluating staff. Identifies appropriate training and professional development opportunities for self and members of the mission team.
      • Implements plans to ensure that services across all regions meet or exceed forecasted service and delivery plans. Optimizes workflow and work schedules, maintaining efficient usage of labor hours.
      • Serves as project owner for projects and improvement initiatives. Manages change through effective planning, communication, and coaching. Builds and participates in leadership coalition, supporting and implementing organizational change.
      • Evaluates trends related to workforce, economic development, and community needs. Contributes to discussions regarding direction for growth to impactfully serve individuals by providing employment services to expand Mission along with other mission key performance indicators (KPIs). Stays informed of new technology and processes, as well as mission industry initiatives to contribute to innovative and efficient service delivery within our communities.
      • Assists with evaluating client intensity, caseload, case mix, funding, and program resources to assess program needs and capacity to proactively address gaps and maximize impact.
      • Analyzes budget and forecast, provides recommendations to optimize reimbursement and/or funding sources, and contributes to mission delivery and sustainability. Identifies possible funding for program(s) and works with Mission leaders to maximize and diversify opportunities.
      • Visits partner locations and works closely with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for performance improvement and program advancement or sustainability.
      • Works proactively to anticipate risks and continuously improve program with overall organization efforts; assesses and continuously improves operational performance.
      • Ensures compliance with various regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, CARF, etc.). Inspects facilities and workspaces to ensure favorable organizational image and safe working environments. Implements and sustains safety programs. Ensures sound safety and work practices are followed and that all team members work to specified safety rules and regulations.
      • Actively engages with community partners and links activities to outcomes and business performance.

      Qualifications


      Education, Skills & Experience Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in human services or business administration is preferred.
      • A combination of at least five years of human services and business management experience.
      • The ideal candidate would be well versed in human service and continuous improvement processes and demonstrate a strong passion for people, knowing every life touched contributes to Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment.
      • Project management, change leadership, and budgeting experience are preferred.
      • Exceptional communication skills that promote a free flow of information at all levels throughout the organization and demonstrate candor and openness when discussing major organizational initiatives.
      • Participates in constructive dialogue and ensures organizational information is cascaded to a wide variety of audiences at all levels. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive organizational information to foster a secure environment and knows when and what to share at the appropriate level.
      • Demonstrates thorough business/industry knowledge and can effectively synthesize business information and respond to changing market dynamics. Is aware of external factors and policies that may affect the organization. Uses knowledge to plan work and guide decision-making.
      • Demonstrates ability to manage in a hands-on work environment.
      • Experience with leading, developing, and empowering others.
      • Exceptional analytical skills, logical decision-making and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve problems quickly.
      • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints.
      • Budgeting and forecasting experience, including building budgets and forecasting tools in Excel.
      • At least an advanced level of competency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
      • Experience with common reporting and dashboard tools.
      • Willingness and ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as applicable.
      • Ability to present, speak to and promote Goodwill NCW’s mission, vision and align to communities served.
      • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required to travel to multiple locations.
      • Possess a reliable vehicle with at least $100,000 each person, $300,000 each accident/occurrence auto insurance coverage is required.
