This role sits in the Media and Communications Directorate.
About the team
The Strategic Communications team within the Brand, Digital and Communications division of the Department of Customer Service has recently undergone a realignment and is now recruiting for a proven, experienced manager to lead a small team.
The Strategic Communications team is dynamic, agile, focused and driven toward success implementation of strategies supporting core business units, agencies and regulators across the Department.
It is responsible for collaborating between stakeholders and communications streams to deliver cohesive and strategic outcomes and for fostering both internal and external relationships with senior executive leaders, government representatives and peers to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
Your day-to-day
The Strategic Communications Manager is a key role within the communications function of DCS and is responsible for delivering collaborative strategies against core commitments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development of internal relationships between stakeholders and communications streams, as well as supporting the team to deliver strategic advice to empower agencies and business to achieve objectives and success against key pillars and priorities.
The Department facilitates three key regulators including SafeWork NSW, Building Commission NSW and Fair Trading & Regulatory Services, which are priority areas for the agency. Other key stakeholders include Service NSW, Revenue NSW, Digital NSW and Customer, Delivery and Transformation.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
* Exceptional previous experience in the delivery of communication strategies encompassing media, digital, marketing, brand and stakeholder channels, preferably in a government environment
* Strong stakeholder relationship and management skills
* Strong ability to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders
* Ability to prioritise workflow for self and team while supporting Director, Media and Communications
* Ability to adjust to be agile and adjust to changing deadlines
* Ability to lead a small team and support their success.Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at 139,787 base plus superannuation
